world-renowned musical improviser currently living in New Orleans, where she has
studied and performed with members of the Sun Ra Arkestra, Astral Project,
Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Mardi Gras Indians, and Louisiana Philharmonic
Orchestra. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

one time radio host on WWOZ, New Orleans, called Gillet, “ one of the most
creative musicians currently on the scene in New Orleans.” WWOZ host Mark
LaMaire, agrees. Writing about Gillet he noted that her musicianship is “always
so tasteful: at times atmospheric, other times serving the function of a bass
player with metronomic rhythm and clear harmonic leadership”.

a composer, bassist, band leader and multi-instrumentalist who made his home in
New Orleans since 1977. Since then he has freelanced with many great New Orleans
artists. A short list would include: Professor Longhair, Astral Project, James
Black, Aaron Neville, Milt Jackson, Eddie Harris, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Gatemouth
Brown, John Scofield, Ellis, Branford, Wynton, and Jason Marsalis, Wild
Magnolias, Natalie Cole, Charlie Rich, and Harry Connick Jr.

Astral Project, Singleton’s improvisation and depth caused Jonathan Tabak,
writer for Offbeat Magazine to note, “not only is he one of the few bassists who
can play convincing funk on the upright, his solos and compositions consistently
