HAZARDOUS WEATHER DAYS -

If a hazardous weather situation arises - before the start of a
member/employee's working hours the following procedures will be used: the
Program Director will contact administrative team members: Treasurer and
President to determine hazard level by 5 a.m. Upon determination of safety
conditions, the Program Director will notify members/employees via phone and
email to notify members/employees of pending full or partial closing of the
Independent Media Center by 6 a.m. on the day of any possible weather
related closing.

a. A member/employee will not be required to forfeit a day's pay during
times of natural disaster when, the UCIMC administative office building/or
host site in which he/she works is closed.

b. If the building in which an employee/member works is not declared to be
closed and the employee /member is unable to arrive at work, the
member/employee must notify his/her site supervisor and program director of
his/her absence due to weather conditions. Notifications can be made via
email. We encourage members/employees to work remotely, if possible.

c. If a hazardous weather situation arises after the start of a
member/employee's working hours, the member/employee's program director may
allow the member/employee to leave work early. The member/employee may make
up hours off-site during hazardous weather conditions.

snow and/or freezing rain and/or sleet are possible generally within
36 hours. These watches are issued by the Weather Service Forecast Office.[

*Blizzard Watch<https://mail.google.com/w/index.php?title=Blizzard_Watch&action=edit&redlink=1>
* - Sustained winds or frequent gusts of 35 mph (56 km/h) or greater,
considerable falling, and/or blowing snow reducing visibility frequently to
1/4 mile (0.4 km) or less for a period of three hours or more are possible

Sustained winds or frequent gusts of 35 mph (56 km/h) or greater,
