I'm writing to ask for your help. Please forward to other AmeriCorps
members and contacts.
Our members are helping Children's Home in Peoria as they participate in
the Edy's Fruit Bar Communities Take Root program.  We will lead the effort
to plant the trees, but before that can happen we need your VOTE!

Children's Home is one of 100 finalists from across the country in the
Edy's Fruit Bar - Communities Take Root program. They are trying to win an
orchard (30 trees) for the youth gardening program run by Children's Home.
Through the garden program, children learn about health/nutrition,
composting, plant growth, etc.  Even better - youth have learned the value
of giving back to their community.  Last year they helped feed over 3,700
people in the Peoria area by donating 70% of the produce grown to local
food pantries and shelters!

How you can help -
1) go to www.communitiestakeroot.com
register your name and email address and VOTE for Children's Home - Scott's
Prairie

2) share this with as many people as you can so they can vote for us too!

Remember, each person/email address can vote 1 time per day, every day -
until the end of the contest (mid June).....so even a small group of people
can make a BIG difference by casting a daily vote.
