Hey, gang! Update!

The Google Glass team accepted the nomination Erich put in my name last
night.

So some thoughts....

The developer edition costs $1500+tax so I'm thinking a budget of $1600 is
a safe bet.

It has a lot of potential though to bring together Py-CU and Makerspace and
individuals outside these groups to create some pretty fantastic things if
nothing else for the sake of creating fantastic things. And writing and
sharing about said fantastic things.

Glass can be developed using languages other than Java. They already have
quickstart libraries available in Java, PHP, Ruby, and Python.

I have safely six days to purchase and then my purchase code expires. Seven
according to the email but that was last night.

Here is what I would like from keymembers. I want thoughts on the safebet
usefulness and interest we can get from this. Also, would there be any way
to get this thing via fundraising at all.

If it comes down to me purchasing it, I would do it thinking it was a safe
enough risk as an investment in tech exploration for myself and my
immediate community. Another way this can be handled is that we pool money
to get it and those who want to develop with it have reserved right to time
with it with that money.

Your thoughts and arguments would be appreciated.

Liz
