Hello everyone,

*The Public Arts Program is currently seeking six (6) performers and six
(6) visual artists to be a part of the 2016 Art at the Market. Selected
artists will be compensated for their time. Deadline to apply** is tomorrow
(2/17), at 11:59 p.m. CST.*

*TO APPLY:*
E-mail the Public Arts Coordinator at ptannos at urbanaillinois.us by February
17, 2016, expressing your interest in performing *or* leading an arts
activity at the market. In your e-mail, include the following information:

1. Artist Bio (1-2 paragraphs)
2. Description of Proposed Performance/Activity (1-2 paragraphs)
3. Up to three (3) work samples (links are preferred for audio/video
samples; digital files in .jpg or .pdf format are preferred for pictures)
4. Availability (select *at least* one of the 2016 Art at the Market dates:
May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8)

Important information for all applicants:

   - Selected artists or artist groups will be asked to perform or teach on
   *one* of the dates listed above. Art activities run from 8:00am to
   12:00pm; music performances are from 9:30am to 11:30pm.
   - Honorarium for each artist or artist group is $400.
   - The City will provide a tent, chairs, and tables. Art supplies,
   materials, and instruments will be the responsibility of each artist, and
   will not be provided or reimbursed by the City.
   - Amplification is not allowed. Proposed performances that are not
   acoustic will not be approved.
   - Due to limited space, not all applicants can be accommodated.

Art at the Market <http://urbanaillinois.us/artworkshops> is a series of
monthly arts activities and performances at Urbana's Market at the Square
<http://urbanaillinois.us/market>. All programs are free, open to all ages,
and require no registration to participate. The workshops and
performances are held on Walnut Street, near the City of Urbana tent, at
the northwest entrance to the Market at the Square. The available dates for
2016 are May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, and October 8.
