Not sure why these announcements from Damián might not be making it to
the OccupyCU list. Here's a try from Stuart...
I assume the NATO/G8 working group will meet *Tuesday*, March 27th
rather than the Thurs. mentioned below (which is the 29th).

Subject: Three kind-of-urgent announcements for the OccupyCU listserv

Hey Stuart,
I can't figure out why I haven't been able to send an email to our
Occupy CU listserv. Can you help me make these three announcements?
Thanks a lot.
* TONIGHT: *We are all Trayvon Martin speak-out/vigil*: It's been a
month since Trayvon was killed and people all over the country will be
gathering in solidarity with Trayvon's family to demand justice and
oppose racism. We'll gather at *8:00 pm in front of Alma Mater (Green
and Wright.)* Bring signs, hoodies, candles, etc.
Also, it is necessary to mention that just within the last 7 days, there
have been two more cases of racially related killings, one in the
Chicago esst side, where an off-duty police officer shot an unarmed
african-american woman; the other one close to San Diego, where an Iraqi
immigrant woman was beaten to death and a note was found close to her
body saying something like "go back to your country, you terrorist". We
will stand up to denounce these crimes also, because an injury to one is
an injury to all!
* TUESDAY: *NATO/G8 working group* will be meeting this *Thursday*,
*March 27, at 7:30 pm. Location: Q'doba* on Green St. (between Wright
and 6th Streets).
We will be fine-tuning the written materials that we have thus far
produced, and we will distribute tasks for outreach to different
community and student groups, as well as media outlets (radio shows,
newspapers.) Also, we will continue to discuss ideas for the logistical
side of our mission in May.
* THURSDAY: *"A Short and Irreverent Story of NATO and G8"*, with Eric
Ruder from CANG8 (Coalition Against NATO and G8.) *Thursday, March 29,
7:00pm in Noyes Laboratory, Room 163 (505 South Mathews Ave., Urbana.)*
This teach-in will cover a short history of both NATO and G8, what
they’ve done and do in the world, and how their decisions—made by
largely unaccountable and unelected people at big summits—shape the
lives of the global 99 percent. The immense resources they’ve commanded
throughout the last several decades have largely created the world we
now inhabit, and understanding these processes—both economic and
political— and why we should protest them, is the main objective of this
meeting.

Damián.
