 Katie, Stephanie, & Ingbert -

Hope you're well, and that things aren't too crazy as the semester winds
down. Wanted to update you on how things went last week in New York, and
let you know what the next steps are coming out of those actions.

Last Thursday we had a press conference in front of the NFL's pop-up store
in Manhattan to highlight the health and safety issues faced by workers in
Flex-N-Gate plants, and raise environmental and health concerns around a
closed plant in Highland Park, MI. After the press conference we marched
to the NFL headquarters, where a delegation delivered materials outlining
these concerns to NFL Commissioner Goodell.

The good news is that the Commissioner has committed to respond to these
concerns by May 11 - next Friday. Ahead of that date we're collecting
signatures for an online petition to the Commissioner, asking him to urge
Khan to address these concerns and clean up his act. The petition is at
www.justiceatflexngate.org/nfl. Could you get this out to GEO, the Campus
Labor Coalition listserv, Occupy CU, and any other groups or individuals
you think might be interested? Feel free to circulate far and wide!

If you're interested in watching the press conference it's available at
http://bit.ly/Iu8Wre, and some NYT coverage of the day's actions is at
http://nyti.ms/KfgTS7.

Thanks!
Ken
