Occupy--remember when we talked about Strike Debt and Rolling Jubilee? Well
I recommended they come to campus b/c I was on the Friday Forum committee
and Thomas Gokey is giving a talk tomorrow Friday at 12pm at the YMCA.

Hall at the University YMCA*. Gokey will discuss the morality of paying
back student loans, a surprisingly affordable alternative to accessing
higher education, and practical steps students can take.

Gokey will be giving an another talk on Friday, April 4th on working
towards a global debt resistance movement if you are unable to make it

On the Thursday night at the University YMCA, Gokey will give a talk on how
students may organize on campus to resist tuition hikes and debt and
advocate for a surprisingly affordable and practical alternative.

What
Is The Rolling Jubilee?

Thomas Gokey currently lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Before that, he was
an adjunct professor at Syracuse University. Gokey has an MFA from the
School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is currently a PhD candidate at
the EGS in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.



Recent projects include the LibraryFarm, a collective farm on public land
in upstate NY; GutenbAAAAARG, a DIY pirate printing press; and the Rolling
Jubilee, a project of Strike Debt which purchases pennies on the dollar.
Strike Debt is an offshoot of Occupy Wall Street which seeks to build a
global debt resistance movement.
