<DIV style="RIGHT: auto"><SPAN style="RIGHT: auto">We indeed did pass such a resolution at the last township meeting in <SPAN id=misspell-0 class=mark>Champaign</SPAN> and in <SPAN id=misspell-1 class=mark>Urbana</SPAN>. The township meeting we're trying to schedule now in <SPAN id=misspell-2 class=mark>Champaign</SPAN> is for the resolution to allow for demonstration on quasi-public property, such as parking lots and malls. That resolution was passed in <SPAN style="RIGHT: auto" id=misspell-3 class=mark>Urbana</SPAN> along with the Citizen's United issue.</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV style="RIGHT: auto"><SPAN style="RIGHT: auto"> Progressive Democrats of America (<SPAN id=misspell-4 class=mark>PDA</SPAN>) is really <SPAN style="RIGHT: auto" id=misspell-5><SPAN>involved</SPAN></SPAN> fighting Citizens United, in fact, they have action groups on health care, environment, war, voting rights and much more. At the moment, the Central Illinois chapter is focusing on health care (Medicare, Part E(<SPAN id=misspell-6 class=mark>veryone</SPAN>) aka single payer, Medicare for All.... I just like the Medicare, Part E, since we already have Part A= Hospitalizations, Part B=Medical care outside hospitals, Part D= prescriptions (never mind that it is a huge give-away to Big <SPAN id=misspell-7 class=mark>Pharma</SPAN>, we can get that changed). Anyway, as our <SPAN id=misspell-8 class=mark>PDA</SPAN> chapter grows, we can add other focus groups. In fact, if enough people are interested in <SPAN id=misspell-9 class=mark>PDA</SPAN>, we could have a "meet and greet" to get things going.</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV style="RIGHT: auto"><SPAN style="RIGHT: auto"></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV style="RIGHT: auto"><SPAN style="RIGHT: auto"> And yes, some <SPAN id=misspell-10 class=mark>PDA</SPAN> members are also part of the local Democratic Party, as evidenced by the fact that I'm not only the leader of <SPAN id=misspell-11 class=mark>PDA's</SPAN> Central Illinois Chapter, but also an elected precinct committee person, as well as the Office Manager at the local HQ (volunteer), as well as a volunteer in many campaigns.</SPAN></DIV>

<DIV>I think the referendum thing is absolutely great and I totally support that. But in terms of the national campaign, I think the focus is on resolutions of government bodies. In much of the U.S., local law doesn't make it as easy as it is in Illinois and a few other places to do local advisory <SPAN id=misspell-21 class=mark>referenda</SPAN>; as a result, people tend not to focus on local <SPAN id=misspell-22 class=mark>referenda</SPAN> at the national level; as a result of that, local advisory <SPAN id=misspell-23 class=mark>referenda</SPAN> tend to get less noticed at the national level. Thus, I think there is an argument for going to the city councils and the County Board. So I am curious as to whether there is any interest in doing that. <BR><BR>
