<P>Greetings everyone,</P>
<P>On Friday the <A title="News-Gazette Article on Upcoming Re-Vote" href="http://www.news-gazette.com/news/environment/2013-03-08/homer-board-vote-again-water-sunrise-coal.html" target=_blank>News-Gazette reported</A> that Homer’s potable water contract with Sunrise Coal will be revisited at tomorrow’s Homer Village Board meeting.</P>
<P>Reportedly, one of the board members who voted “no” last month has changed his mind and is willing to make a motion to re-vote on the contract. For reference, the trustees who voted “no” at the last meeting were <B>Mike Johnson, Kevin Knott, Roy Woodmansee. Guy James</B> was not present but has voted “no” on most related issues during this process.</P>
<P>Please plan to attend tomorrow’s meeting at the <A title="Location: Homer Village Hall" href="https://maps.google.com/maps?q=homer+il+village+Hall&hl=en&ll=40.039559,-87.952187&spn=0.008378,0.018797&client=firefox-a&fb=1&gl=us&hq=village+Hall&hnear=0x880d2831838d5453:0x3ad35218f4a6ce23,Homer,+IL&cid=0,0,5964845707313141952&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A" target=_blank>Homer Village Hall</A> and let the Village Board know you support protecting our water resources. On<B> Monday, March 11, 2013 at 7:00 pm</B>, the Homer Village Board will meet and likely re-vote on a contract to provide treated water and sewer services to Sunrise’s proposed coal mine (<A title="Homer March 2013 Village Board Agenda" href="http://www.homervillage.com/documents/march2013_000.doc" target=_blank>click here for agenda</A>).</P>
<P>With this upcoming decision, the Village Board has an important opportunity to protect the Salt Fork River and local water resources by <B>voting no</B> on any proposed water or sewer sales. Any deal now could open the door to future sales of hundreds of thousands of gallons per day of untreated water for washing coal – a sale that threatens to diminish water supplies and would send polluted mine water into the Salt Fork River. Homer trustees should once again send a strong message in support of productive farmland and clean water.</P>
<P><B>ACT NOW: </B>Please contact your Village Board members today and ask them to vote <B>no</B> on any water or sewer deal with Sunrise Coal.</P>
