This is important. Both the current administration and the last
have relied (lied and re-lied) on the AUMF passed by Congress a week
after 9/11. It's the only constitutional warrant Obama has for
continuing to kill people in the Middle East . Therefore he <i>must</i>
say that the purpose of the Long War in the Middle East is to "stop
terrorism" - he has no authorization for anything else, and 70% of
Americans think the war is not worth the loss of life.<br>

But we know that the US war in the Mideast creates terrorists much
faster than it discourages them. The administration is not stupid:
they know that - and rely on the existence of terrorists as an
excuse for our massive military occupation of the region & its
resources:<br>
