Freedom of speech and the ability to make one's self heard are not the
same.<br>

Indeed some fora do not permit some discussions and one can be ejected,
refused entry, or have one's microphone <br>
turned off, or otherwise be squelched, sussed, or neutralized, if
certain rules are not obeyed.<br>

Across the Universe is really an excellent treatment of the Beatles
catalogue, and the musicians and singers are top notch.<br>
<br>
The symbolism in the movie is wonderful. Interesting how well it works
without being corny.<br>

<div>Taymor is excellent. Her Shakespeare films - Titus (1999),
with Anthony Hopkins, and The Tempest (2010), with Helen Mirren - are
under-appreciated, and Across the Universe was made between them, with
Shakespeare's history plays in mind, it seems. It's a shame she ever
got involved with the Broadway Spiderman: she was I think trying to do
something of the mixing of pop culture and serious comment that's
