<P>The Presidential election is over but the fight to save Medicare
intensifies. While Romney and Ryan campaigned for turning Medicare into a
private voucher system, support for privatization comes from both sides of
the aisle.</P>
<P>Just because President Obama won another term doesn't mean that
Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are safe. Far from it. Obama's
seeking a "grand bargain" with the Republican-controlled House by January
1.</P>
<P><STRONG>The President, in order to avoid the so-called "fiscal cliff,"
is willing to raise Medicare's eligibility age from 65 to 67 and to cut
Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security by $650 billion</STRONG>. This is
no joking matter--these changes would mean life and death to the most
vulnerable in our country.</P>
<P>President Obama is serious about these cuts:</P><STRONG>"I am willing
to move on entitlement reform--even if my own party is
resisting</STRONG>--and I will bring them along as long as we have
significant revenues so that people feel like there’s a fairly shared
burden when it comes to deficit reduction."
<P><STRONG>We can't allow any deal to pass that threatens Medicare,
Medicaid, or Social Security.</STRONG></P><STRONG></STRONG>
<P><STRONG>We know improved Medicare-for-all (HR 676) is the
solution</STRONG>--it would save Medicare, halt out-of-control healthcare
costs, ease the deficit pressure, and bring universal healthcare to the
nation.</P>

and email Congress with these simple demands</A>:</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>Don't cut Medicare or raise its eligibility age from 65. Don't
cut Medicaid.</STRONG> Instead, pass improved Medicare-for-all (HR 676) in
order to create a truly universal healthcare system that will also reduce
the deficit and save Americans $500 billion a year on healthcare
costs.</P>
<P><STRONG>Don't cut Social Security or raise the retirement age.</STRONG>
Instead, save the system by removing the $110,000 income cap on
high-earners paying into Social Security.</P>
