The sales of Guns and Ammo in the US skyrocketed after Barack Obama's<br>

first election and now again after his re-election.<br>

It's interesting to see how much heat the NRA gets from gun control<br>

groups.  Actually the NRA is a really flimsy political outfit these days<br>

and does not really seem to stand up well for 2nd amendment rights.<br>

Again it's interesting to see that some groups think the NRA is radical.<br>

It's not.  It's a bunch of lukewarm poseurs at the top.<br>

The really principled organizations doing something are<br>

the Second Amendment Foundation<br>

and Larry Pratt's Gun Owners of America.<br>

The GOA has about 300,000 members.  Indeed the NRA has more than 10

times as many members.<br>

Larry Pratt is not a radical Ted Nugent sort of guy, but a calm,

reasonable fellow.<br>

I had always understood that the 2nd amendment was to arm the people

against<br>

the government.  It makes all kinds of sense for the 1% to disarm the

population.<br>

Sure am glad that the Democrats are assisting the 1% in that effort.<br>
