I had a significant health issue that needed some attention recently
and I <br>
went to the local hospital emergency room with my problem and I spent<br>
two days at that hospital as an outpatient. <br>
The hospital is a bit less than 3 miles<br>
from where we live. I seldom go to the doctor unless i am sick. I<br>
do have a checkup about every year though.<br>
<br>
All patients with new problems are processed by a doctor in the
emergency<br>
room who evaluates your problem and routes you to a lab for some
initial testing<br>
and to a specialist clinic or two on the upper floors. Mind you this
is a<br>
major hospital in one of the largest cities in the world, and it was
full <br>
of people. I never had to wait more than 10 minutes to see a doctor<br>
or to get processed for various ultrasound, blood work, etc.<br>

There were no forms to fill out at any time. (Have you every had the <br>
measles? If so how many?... )<br>
<br>
All of the lab work was coordinated to the doctors ordering it via his
computer terminal.<br>
He typed in orders and printed them out and sent me to where i needed
to <br>
go get tests or whatever. They put the results of the test and the
blood<br>
work everything in my hand after the tests were run. Everything in
Chinese<br>
but no problem i could read the biochemical and hematologic profile and
saw<br>
what was up.<br>

I had to go get my own iv stuff from the pharmacy and a bottle of
saline and <br>
an iv set. They make the patients carry their own stuff and it cuts
the <br>
cost and reduces people traffic.<br>
<br>
At the end of the first day they gave me an iv and sent me home. <br>
The second day they ran more tests and <br>
prescribed me some pills. I was already much better by the 2nd day.<br>
<br>
I got better very quickly and am recovered. <br>
<br>
I had to stand in line for about 20 minutes to pay my bill.<br>
The total bill came to about $250 USD including all of the examinations,<br>
all of the meds, the iv, the needles they used, everything itemized.<br>
One major expense was for a drug made by Pfizer. It cost USD$10 for a <br>
two week supply.<br>

The USA does not make enough doctors to service the population and
therein lies one of the <br>
major problems. The other problem is that americans are grossly
overcharged for medicines.<br>

I didnt have to make an appointment with a doctor and wait days to be
seen.<br>
I saw two specialists the same day I arrived at the hospital.<br>
I didnt have to fill out any endless forms about intricate details of
my medical history.<br>
The doctor looked at me and looked at my chart and asked me a few
well-directed questions.<br>
I did not have to deal with any snotty (snooty) medical secretaries.
Not one.<br>
It did take me most of 2 days spent at the hospital but I am ok now.<br>

This is a fairly mean-spirited bit of writing with a bit <br>

the truth in many points. <br>

I am not sure that Rand Who? is a "Christian Zionist", <br>
but he definitely has shown some neoconnish attitudes.<br>

I don't like Rand Paul. <br>

I don't like him at all. He has sought money from neocon people that<br>
I would not want to associate with and praised some people I despise,<br>
like Romney, for instance.<br>

But am a huge fan of his principled old man.<br>

A lot of those who supported Ron Paul don't much care for his son.<br>

Ron Paul was an ob/gyn. <br>

Rand Paul is an eye doctor.<br>
He seems to be in need of some help with his own eyes.<br>
He's no doubt beyond the help of Jackson Browne or Harry.<br>

I am not so sure that the progressives ought to be so strongly<br>
railing against the Tea Party. That middle-class tax increase<br>
is going to come right out of everybody's ass pocket, and<br>
most working people dont have an extra thousand or two they would<br>

according to Business Insider. Politics makes strange bedfellows as the
saying goes. I don’t suppose Paul will remind the Jews there that they
will burn in hell if they don’t convert to his religion when Jesus gets
back. I suppose the evangelical organizations that make this happen are
tax-exempt not being political. This is a religious pilgrimage no doubt.<br>

Paul is looking at a presidential run next election as a Republican and
is looking for support; after all, Obama raised $1 billion.<span> </span>For
that he needs to schmooze with American Zionists and the powerful pro
Israel lobby, AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee.) </span></div>

family of theocratic thugs that runs the country. Abdullah is one of
the world’s wealthiest individuals at about $21 billion according to

a joke."</i> If he’s like his Libertarian daddy he would also support
workers organizing but not forcing employers to increase wages through
withholding our Labor power, that’s terrorism too isn’t it?</span></div>

small government and opposes government involvement in health care.
Health care is best served by market forces like most of society’s
needs. He likes medicine being a business as he is in the medical

legislation that is aimed at keeping workers from organizing for better
wages and conditions.<span> </span>He should get along well with King
Abdullah.</span></div>
