<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Calibri;font-size:large">The events that have occurred in Ferguson, Missouri and the recent grand jury decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson have gripped the country. We empathize with Mike Brown's family
and loved ones, and we acknowledge that his life should be commemorated with peaceful protests and demonstrations. All lives matter. Nonetheless, we have to remind everyone #BlackLivesMatter because of several high-profile deaths of unarmed African American
men and women due to law enforcement, including members of the LGBTQ community.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:large;font-family:Calibri">The University of Illinois cultural and resource centers are open to members of the U of I community to express their thoughts and opinions. We are here to listen, to be a resource, and
</span><span style="font-size:large;font-family:Calibri">offer support during this very difficult moment(s) in our country's history. This important moment will not be any different. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:large;font-family:Calibri">When students return from Fall Break</span><span style="font-size:large;font-family:Calibri;color:rgb(31,73,125)">,</span><span style="font-size:large;font-family:Calibri"> the LGBTRC
and the other cultural and resource centers will have our doors open and space available to any member of the student body to express their thoughts and opinions in response to the decision. We welcome you and any other member of the student body to come
to the Center for healthy discourse and critical dialogue that allow us to develop strategies for action, and to plan a meaningful response. Additionally, two planned discussions are taking place:</span></p>
