The Obama administration announced in October that they would maintain 9,800 U.S. troops in Afghanistan through the end of Obama’s term in office; meanwhile, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (which the U.S. effectively runs) will have about 12,000 troops in Afghanistan, made up of about 7,000 U.S. forces and 5,000 from the rest of NATO and countries such as non-NATO member Georgia; and the administration announced this week that they are increasing U.S. “special operations forces” in Iraq as part of an expanded war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS or ISIL).</div><div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px; font-family: Georgia; min-height: 14px;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-size: 12px; font-family: Georgia;" class="">Most Americans are unaware that the president’s drone attacks continue (the NY Times says he chooses the targets himself) and have already killed more than 6,000 people - including U.S. citizens and hundreds of children; nor that he commands an 80,000-member private presidential army, the ‘special operations forces' (who report only to the president’s National Security Council) - active by their own account in 75% of the countries of the world; their activities include kidnapping, torture, and murder.
