<p>As the one woman, saying "yes" to speaking on socialism when asked this morning by David Johnson, I'm disturbed that it was cancelled. Relieved I won't be speaking, but disturbed that I won't be hearing what the others, though they maybe male, have to say.

<p>I care little about gender, having lived in nations where men and woman alike are abused equally, though generally it is the women who suffer the most, whether through war or poverty. I have nothing but contempt for women who support Hillary because she's
a woman, ignoring her record of death and destruction. On the assumption that we be tokens to break the glass ceiling.

<p>Therefore I take this opportunity to suggest support for the one woman and party truly embracing socialist values, that of Jill Stein and the Green Party.

<div dir="ltr">Wow, I'm a bit disturbed to see that you felt comfortable listing all the women who said no to this event. I am going to assume the motivation behind this is to prove that these women were approached, however, it reads as blame. </div>

<div dir="ltr">When I cancelled the event on Facebook, unfortunately it cut off access to the comments that had been made. I do not see how to restore that. When I originally planned this event, I aimed for diversity--gender, racial, global. Unfortunately,
after asking at least 10 women, none of whom were both willing and able to participate, I went ahead with publicizing the event. I had trepidation about doing so, and now I can understand why. It's perfectly understandable that some people were taken aback
at the panel being all men. So that's the way it goes, and we'll get back to it some other time.</div>

<div dir="ltr">Terri Barnes had originally agreed to participate, but had to cancel due to a scheduling conflict. Zsazsu Gille also might have considered participating, but she also had a conflict. Kathy Oberdeck expressed her regrets, due to the fact that
she is on sabbatical. In addition, I asked Harriet Murav, Melissa Orlie, Susan Davis, Susan Parenti, Stephanie Seawell, Natalie Uhl, and Pat Simpson.</div>

<div dir="ltr">Michelle Jett, Carl Ammons assistant, made a comment on Facebook that there may be some underlying reason why no women were willing to participate. I disagree with this.</div>
