But I would also suggest that it is somewhat important to see the "national interest" as determined by the "executive committee of the bourgeoisie," as being more than the sum of the parts of the particular pecuniary interests involved, whether weapons manufacturers, corporate providers of mercenary services, etc. That "national interest" has do with both ruling the world by force, and with scaring Americans into silence and compliance.
