And I can tell you that the evidence is overwhelming and deeply troubling. This is bigger than one election or one man. This is about our national security and should be taken seriously by the President of the United States. </div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1485393222547_13569" class="">It is time for my Republican colleagues to put country before party and our national security interests ahead of any one person or one President. </div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1485393222547_13570" class="">I am calling for a bipartisan independent commission of public officials and private citizens with subpoena power to investigate. Such a commission could be led by people the American people trust, like <b class="">General Colin Powell and Justice Sandra Day O’Connor</b> – people of <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1485393222547_13736" class="">unquestionable integrity</b> who will make the right finding for America and <b class="">not for any political reasons</b>. If we are going to have a comprehensive, credible investigation it must also have resources, time, adequate staff, and adequate authority. </div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1485393222547_13571" dir="ltr" class="">In the end, the American people deserve the truth.
