to provide a few compensatory drops in the buckets that have been emptied by

state and federal neoliberal budgets. Such donors are effusively awarded by

said foundations, as publicized in recent <i id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3373" style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">News-Gazette

</i>articles about Jeff Hartman and George Shapland, local mega-developers.</font></div><font id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3374" face="Times New Roman">

</font><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3375" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;"><font id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3376" face="Calibri">Both men are, not coincidentally, leaders of the Academy on

Capitalism and Limited Government, which aspired to be a libertarian/neoliberal

think tank equivalent to Stanford’s Hoover Institution at the U of I, but which

even the usually docile faculty eventually banished to the U of I Foundation

and an office on Marketview Drive.</font></div><font id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3377" face="Times New Roman">

</font><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3378" style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;"><font id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3379" face="Calibri">As shabby, pseudo-intellectual, and moribund as its website

makes the ACLG appear, its principals and supporters have the last laugh. They

own us, our politicians, and our school administrators. Directly, they have

Cozad Asset Management and Busey Bank, Wall Street in the cornfields.

Indirectly, they have the support of the Koch Brothers and the national

leadership of both major political parties; both those who deny climate change and

those who pretend they want to address it.</font></div><font id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1498147793386_3380" face="Times New Roman">

libertarians, the above-mentioned institutions and individuals do not

incorporate an opposition to U.S. global military aggression into their notion
