<div>That's a fair enough assessment, Karen. What prompted me to look for the original comment that I posted was being bombarded with promotions for the film whenever I watched something on YouTube. My perhaps hasty assumption from the trailer was that Americans would view the character in the form of Tom Cruise as a kind of loveable rascal, without understanding the context of what he was involved in; or that he's presented as a sort of romantic outlaw. But of course just the idea that this is presented as entertainment is disturbing to me, although I don't expect it to be disturbing to the broader culture.</div><div><br></div><div>DG</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
