Plenty of useful and interesting facts are presented in ths article, but largely misses the point of the feral antagonism towards Russia and Putin by U.S. politicians, academics and media, namely that Russia is a (potential) global competitor for influence,

 ideas, resources, and power, something which cannot be countenanced (by our corporate dominated militarized state). <br class="">
