Watkins’ account of the analyses and plans of the actual combatants - the US and Russia - can help to chart a way out of the quagmire. 

Instead of providing more weapons or - even worse - a no-fly zone, the US must insist Ukraine accept Putin’s terms for a cease-fire.

But Washington seems criminally willing to fight to the last Ukrainian to produce maximum damage to Russia and Putin.

US citizens must prevent that. —CGE
