Champaign Urbana Citizens for Peace and Justice (CUCPJ)
condemns the grand jury for refusing to indict Officer
Wilson. To them, evidence and the testimony of black
eyewitnesses don't matter . We say Black lives do
matter, all lives matter. Continue the struggle for
justice for Mike Brown. Stop the aggressive policing and
killings of innocent Black men on our streets.

We condemn Gov. Jay Nixon for imposing a state of
emergency. The people of Ferguson have the right to
protest free from threats and intimidation by police.
End the state of emergency now.

We condemn the presence of military vehicles and
automatic weapons in the hands of the police in Ferguson
and other communities. We call on the federal government
to stop supplying military vehicles to local police. Our
streets should not be turned into war zones by those who
are supposed to serve and protect.

Ferguson is everywhere, including Champaign. We Demand:

End the Militarization of Police

No More Jails

No Tasers for police

Stop Racial Profiling

Keep Families Whole

Justice for Kiwane Carrington

Join us on the steps of the courthouse.
