<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">The film revolves around the revolutionary educational system of Siragu, a school for homeless and underprivileged children, located in the remote outskirts
 of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. For a long time, the focus of education in India has been one of compulsive learning procedures, rote learning and examination-based evaluation with no emphasis on children's understanding of concepts, critical thinking and
 implications in real life. Siragu school, in spite of limited resources and unimaginable obstacles has maintained a quality of education that we rarely see in current systems all around the world.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">Kousalya Jenganathan, also known by her artist’s name earthling, is a filmmaker, visual artist, and poet hailing from Pondicherry, India. As a visiting scholar
 with the School for Designing a Society in Urbana, she is presenting her work on campus. As part of Accessible Horizon Films, she writes, edits, and directs short films and documentaries. Most recently, she completed a Tamil feature length film called 500&5
 or Ayynoorum Aynnthum, which examines the whereabouts and value placed on a 500 rupee note that changes hands 5 times. She is the author of Reckless Perceptions, a collection of poetry and recently has been exploring acrylic painting. Her exhibit “The Non-Resilient
 Molecule” is on display at the Women’s Resources Center on campus through the end of December.
