<p><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">In the
coming weeks, House and Senate leadership will
decide which provisions will remain in the
FY2020 National Defense Authorization Act
(NDAA). Different versions of the bill passed
each chamber over the summer, and House-Senate
negotiators are now working out a final
agreement.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">We want
the final version to include a House-passed
provision to end U.S. military involvement in
the brutal Saudi-UAE led war in Yemen. That
amendment was introduced by Reps. Ro Khanna
(CA-17), Adam Smith (WA-09), Adam Schiff
(CA-28), and Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), and
passed by a bipartisan vote of 240-185. It is
very similar to the Yemen War Powers
Resolution passed by both the House and Senate
with bipartisan majorities during the spring
of 2019 but vetoed by President Donald Trump.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">We now
have a real chance to end this war, which has
never been authorized by Congress. The
Saudi-UAE led coalition’s aerial bombardment
of Yemen is one of the <a

ending its logistical and intelligence support
for the bombing.</span></p>

Senators Durbin and Duckworth at

publicly that they will not support an NDAA
that doesn't also end US support for the
Saudi-UAE led war in Yemen! </strong></span></p>

end U.S. military support for the Saudi-UAE
led war in Yemen?</strong></span></p>

has never authorized the use of U.S.
military force in the Saudi-led war in
Yemen, making such participation
unconsitutional.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">The
Saudi-led war in Yemen is exacerbating the
world's worst humanitarian crisis, with
nearly 22 million people in need of
emergency assisstance.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif">Save
the Children estimates that at least 85,000
children under the age of five have died
from hunger and disease since 2015.</span></li>
