That's great! Even if I cannot make it, at least people will actually be meeting instead of dwelling confusedly in?ambiguous spaces of strained?virtuality, which is unproductive and more alienating than missing a single meeting. Also if I fail to attend, I will make an effort to get caught up on what went down in the meeting through conversation with someone whom was there or have someone proxy my ideas and?opinions at the meeting itself.?

Ricky,
Please forward the message below to everyone on the committee. It was going to take forever to add evening hours to everything, so I directed folks to think of am as 5-7 pm and pm as 7-9 on weekdays... I think this will work.
You'll be able to see who has responded by looking at:

Of all the responses, we will identify which times work best for most people, and let you know when the meetings are.
PLEASE NOTE!!
For our purposes:
On weekdays: AM= 5-7pm and PM = 7-9pm
On weekends: AM=10a-4pm and PM = 4-8pm

Ricky,
The link was just a sample- as I said in the other email, I would have to put in evening hours by hand so I didn't want to go ahead is we weren't going to use it. So the process is like this:
you tell me that you want us to use this as our meeting tool
I add evening hours and send you a new link
you send it out to everyone
they fill it out
voila! we see when folks can meet
So- tag, you're it!
If you don't think you are, or don't want to be the coordinator, let us know and we'll find someone else. You came up as the person who was, during the meeting.
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hi Beth-
My problem is, I can't meet at all this week before 5, and the scheduler only goes until 5pm - or am I doing it wrong?? Isn't there a way to set up a 7pm or 7:30pm meeting?? I'm available tonight and Friday night at 7 or 7:30pm ... ???? (Sorry.)

Hi Ricky,
I suggested using meet-o-matic to save hassle. I have set up a page for you to look at.
In this way, everyone just clicks their availability and the top choices appear automatically.
It was easy to pop in day times, but I'd have to add night time by hand, so I'm waiting to hear back form you that this is desired before I do it.

The reason I attended is to help build the orientation/ infrastructure so that this is an offer that both reflects the needs of the community as they describe it, and that it is relevant and an invitation to folks who aren't part of the imc/SF crowd. Unfortunately I don't think it's on the radar of many folks outside the 'usual suspects' and it's a very short lead time to build the needed relationships.
Finally, a number of people at the meeting responded with a sort of, "I guess I SHOULD be on the committee". So I strongly encourage you to encourage folks to step back from the coordinating group if they aren't super passionate, and simply be available to help implement.
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hi Ricky,
There were a good number of people at the meeting on Saturday.? Of those there already on your list, the following indicated a continuing interest in serving on it:
Kenny Bishop, Laurie Solomon, Belden Fields, Germaine Light, Stuart Levy, Paul Mueth.
The following people there who were not ont he original list, but want to be on the committee are:
Gene Vanderport? (lightport at sbcglobal .net)
DAve Powers? (Pengdust at aol. com)
Dave Johnson? (unionyes at ameritech. net)
Chris Watson? (stjudescw at yahoo. com)? 398-3413
Beth Simpson? (elizacorps at yahoo. com) 344-8324
Marti Wilkinson? (nlilki at att.net)? 3513191
In addition, I called Sundiata Cha-Jua, who was not at the meeting, and he is definitely interested in serving on the committee.? I tried to reach Ken Salo and Treva Ellison via e-mail and have not gotten a reponse.? I think their participation is especially important on this committee so that it would be diversified.? Maria Silva has moved to Equador.
It was hoped by those present that you could coordinate the calling of committee meetings at least once a week, beginning this week, if not twice since time is running short.? It was realized that not everyone is going to be able to meet at any given time.? Beth Simpson has offered to help construct a system on the computer to find out when the people are available.? Perhaps she could contact you.? I am ccing this to her.
There are 2 errors in the e-mail addresses on your present list.
Stuart Levy's e-mail address is: slevy at new.math. uiuc.edu
Germaine Light's e-mail is: glight at ms.k12. il.us
Thanks Ricky.
Belden
