To whoever may be on this list (Dan, can you tell us who is subscribed?):

This morning at 8 am we were out of compliance with FCC regulations as a PSA
was played instead of a legal station ID. This was the same PSA for a
lecture about the Pentagon I heard earlier in the week and mentioned to the
general list.

I think the automation group needs to be better organized in order to
address such issues. As I see it, there are three main components to the
automation system:

1. Non-music programs
2. Music
3. Station IDs, program ads, PSAs

I have been taking care of Programs. This has involved finding programs to
play during automation hours when we don't have automated music, obtaining
permission to broadcast the programs, and setting this up on the automation
computer. I can contintue to work on this for the foreseeable future.

I think we need to have a volunteers responsible for 2 and 3. I know Lynsee
has done a lot for getting local music into the system and hope that she
might volunteer to be responsible for this or have a suggestion as to whom
this might be if she can't do it.. No. 3 would require periodically (weekly)
reviewing all the station IDs, PSAs and show ads on the system, making sure
there were in the right folders, and deleting those PSA and shows ads that
were out of date.

If we can't find apeople who are subscribed to this automation list to
volunteer for these responsibilities, I will send this message to the
general WRFU list.
