[rfu-automation] Fwd: [Stubblefield] Radio Notes, Getting Record Service

Yeah, I was thinking a bar code scanner would help - though I'm
guessing some of the older or more obscure CDs may not be in the
online systems (or, as I sometimes find, may share bar codes with
other CDs). However, it would be substantially faster than keying
tracks in from scratch - particularly useful for the initial process
of entering our existing library.

One thing to consider when choosing any solution is how it might
integrate with other technologies as we move forward - including
adding a 'currently playing' feature on our site, generating playlists
and charts, finding and playing digital tracks direct from the
catalogue, etc. In this regard, we may want something more specialized
than Koha (though then again, the functionality of a proper ILS may
facilitate building/installing plug-ins for the desired features,
while giving catalogue management that might not be otherwise
available).
