[Rfu-station] Two Pieces of Good News for RFU

I have two pieces of very good news to pass along.

With the warm generosity of Ann Sibley, we are now over an eighth of the 
way to the Raise the Tower goal. I don't have an exact figure right now, 
but I do know that we are at about $2,500 on the way to our goal of 
$20,000.

We've also had Raise the Tower income from Trivia Night and some other 
contributors, with Kids on the Radio, IMCfest, and many other things 
coming soon. Keep reading those PSA's and making personal pitches on 
your shows. We'll soon have Raise the Tower t-shirts, especially is 
someone wants to organize a Saturday crew to print some. Remember, all 
these are projects are good ways to easily earn meeting credit for your 
programming group.

The second piece of good news is that the rumored massive donation of 
CDs culled from the vaults of our older sister community radio station, 
WEFT, 90.1, looks like it will happen soon. most likely on Saturday, 
Oct. 27. Since I've been told that it amounts to "about 100 crates of 
CDs" a moving crew will need to be organized. My back is really limiting 
me these days, but I can probably contribute a trailer and tow vehicle 
if someone can help move things. Let me know if you're available on Sat, 
Oct. 27 for this project.

This is obviously a big undertaking, as it is literally thousands of 
CDs. We'll also need volunteers to fill the studio shelves with music 
picked from the whole, as it all simply will not fit in the studio. 
We'll need to store and secure the rest, as well as come up with a plan 
to utilize, sort, etc with what doesn't fit in the studio. This is 
another project which can also earn you meeting credit.

Finally, the next RFU general meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 8pm in the 
Family Room, downstairs at the IMC. Come find out how to get involved in 
this important work to make RFU sound and work better.

Also, remember that at least two members of your programming group must 
renew your membership for the year by October 31 to keep your show slot 
on the air. Please renew now!
