There's some exciting progressive / avant jazz / improvised music
happening this weekend in Urbana Champaign. Bloom Project featuring
pianist Thollem McDonas and saxophonist Rent Romus is scheduled for
Friday, 7pm at Allen Hall. On Saturday evening, Ravish Momin's
Tarana is performing as part of the Global Afterglow series in the
lobby of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts around 9:30pm.
Both concerts are open to the public and free to attend. Hope to
see folks turn out for these exceptional groups. More info below.<br>

Bloom Project is a spirited collaboration between pianist Thollem
McDonas and saxophonist Rent Romus. McDonas has logged thousands of
miles touring throughout the world performing his unique brand of
compositional improvisation with nineteen recordings spanning nine
recording labels. Romus has released over twenty three recordings
and built a community infrastructure in the San Francisco Bay Area
as the owner of Edgetone Records and the Executive Director of
Outsound. Bloom Project features free improvisations as well
interpretations of textual and graphical scores.<br>
