Here are some upcoming events and Opportunities:
1. Illini Heartbeats

1. Illini Heartbeats is hosting a Heartbeats Ball on campus 
for fundraising purposes. Volunteers are needed on Friday, 
February 25th between 12-5pm and Saturday, February 26th, 
between 6am-1pm to help organize and set up for the event.


2. The American Cancer Society is hosting the annual Relay 
for Life in Champaign this year on April 9th and 10th. This 
fundraising event raises money for the research and 
treatment of cancers and leukemias. Please respond quickly 
if you would like to register a team.

3. C-U Express Festival will be held at the Virginia Theatre 
on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19.  This is the 
beginning of Spring Break, so if you need something to do 
here it is!  This is the most inclusive festival ever to hit 
Champaign-Urbana! Little Theatre of the Deaf will present 3 
performances completely in sign language.  It will be 
translated into spoken word.  Motorcycle Diaries will be 
shown on Friday night, completely subtitled. The event will 
be audio-described.  The event will include a street 
carnival on Saturday afternoon.  There will be jugglers, a 
magician, and other activities for all with a sensory 
focus.  Volunteers are needed in many different  ways; as 
ushers; Friday 9:30, 1:00 & 7:30 pm, carnival workers; 
Saturday 11 - 4., and other duties throughout the weekend.

4. Currently Provena Behavioral Health Mental Health Center: 
Health Young Families is looking for weekly volunteers on 
Tuesdays and Thursdays to help with their teen parenting 
groups. Volunteers would be given a variety of tasks, 
including driving young parents to and from the doctors, 
cooking dinner for the parents, and childcare. 

VIP Health Needs currently has many other weekly 
volunteering opportunities in the health fields. If you have 
any interest in working with the mental and physical well 
being of all of Champaign's residents please contact us to 
learn more about the groups opportunities.
