[Vip-hh] Hunger and Homelessness Projects, VIP

Hello all new and old volunteers!
 
My name is Whitney Trumble and I am the director of Hunger 
and Homelessness Projects for Volunteer Illini Projects. H&H 
works to combat the effects of hunger and homelessness in 
the Champaign-Urbana community. We are very excited about 
this semester, and hope all of you can come out and 
volunteer.

H&H volunteers at 5 agencies: the Center for Women in 
Transition, St. Jude's Catholic Worker House, Eastern 
Illinois Foodbank, Salt and Light Food and Clothing Pantry, 
and the TIMES Center. We also have Special Projects, which 
volutneers for special events like food drives, Hunger and 
Homelessness Awareness Week and conferences. Projects 
International is a new project that works with Oxfam and 
fair trade campaigns, and is open to new ideas.


Hunger and Homelessness will be having an Orientation Night:

Wednesday, August 31
Illini Room 211
7 pm

This meeting is not mandatory, but it is a great way to come 
out and either get to know all the agencies and programs or 
reacquaint yourselves with the project.

Applications for coordinator positions will be available at 
the Orientation Nights, as well as through email at a later 
date. Currently there are 2-3 positions open:  Salt and 
Light Food and Clothing Pantry, Projects International and 
an additional agency tba.

I hope to see you on Wednesday, and I look forward to a 
great semester with H&H!!
