[Vip-recreation] coaching and leadership opportunities

Sorry to interrupt your summer early, but a few people from 
the community have asked our help.  Just take a look and see 
if there is anything you can help with.  Also, if you are 
interested in being a coordinator, email me and hopefully we 
can get you started and settled into the position soon (it's 
fun, easy, and a great way to show your leadership 
potential) :)

***The Urbana park District is looking for volunteer coaches 
for our Fall Youth Soccer league.  The league begins in late 
August and goes to the middle of October.  Volunteers must 
be willing to spend 4-7 hours per week, including Saturday 
mornings.  We are in need of about 5 coaches, but we can 
always use assistants.  For more information please contact

9583. 

***The Downtown Festival of the Arts is on August 20 & 21 at 
West Side Park in Champaign. The event runs each day from 
noon- 7 pm.  CU Special Recreation has the great opportuntiy 
to operate the Pepsi booth as a fundraiser for their 
scholarship program.   All we have to do is take a ticket 
from the customer and hand them a Pepsi bottle.  We do not 
have to worry about making change for people, that is done 
for us. We don't even have to mess with glases and ice, all 
we have to do is hand the customer a bottle of Pepsi (nice 
and easy).   

The available spots are: 

Saturday 
1:30 - 3:30  2 people needed 
3:30 - 5:30  2 people needed 
5:30 - 7:30  3 people needed 

Sunday 
11:30 - 1:30  2 people needed 
1:30 - 3:30   1 person needed 
3:30 - 5:30   3 people needed 

Please email Kathy Stiebner or call at 398-2374 if you are 
available to pick up one of these shifts for me.  This 
should be a fun day and will really make a difference in 
their scholarship account. 

**If you want to be taken off this list or graduated :( send 
me a quick (and nice) email and I will take care of that for 
you.
