Hey everyone,
I apologize in advance for the plethora of emails you'll be
getting this week. It wont always be this crazy! I've
attached and also copied and pasted the coordinator
application, for those of you who would like to take on a
leadership position with Special Projects. You can email the
application back to me, or print it off and turn it in to the
VIP office in the RSO Complex Rm 268 by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11th.
It's a great opportunity for those of you who would like to
someday take over a service project and become a Director of
Special Projects or within VIP in general. It helps you
connect with agencies, and those ties will be very helpful in
the future. Volunteer work also looks great on resumes!
More importantly, it gives you the rare opportunity to help
plan and organize volunteer events that directly help the
community and underpriviledged people. Of course, it makes
you feel good, but also helps the community as a whole!
So, please fill out the following questions and information,
including which agencies you're most interested in becoming a
coordinator for. The agencies I'm seeking coordinators for
are: Champaign County Nursing Home, Faith in Action, SWANN
Special Care Center, TIMES Center, Crisis Nursery, Public
Relations, and a coordinator to help plan and organize joint
events with other VIP Projects. If you have questions as to
the responsibilities associated with each agency, or what
types of events you can expect to plan for each agency,
please feel free to email me or stop in the VIP office during
my office hours, Monday and Wednesdays from 1-2pm .
Thank you,
Liz Rice
