 Hi everyone,

A few new events have come up- the new ones are in red so be sure to check
them out! I know that this is a really busy time for most people, but we
have a lot of great opportunities to make an impact in the community, so
please read these over, and find a few that you'd like to take a few hours
break to come out and help with!
**
*Help Fight Poverty! TOMORROW AND THURSDAY!*

The Hunger and Homelessness Project has an awesome event coming up Wednesday
and Thursday, April 11 and 12 from 10-2 on the quad that they need
volunteers for. It's a part of an advocacy campaign to help fight poverty,
especially rural and international (for information see Bread for the World
at bread.org).We'll be writing and calling our representatives and senators,
and all the materials and instructions will be provided. Volunteers just
need to man the booth for 1 or 2 hour shifts. Help us raise awareness for
these great causes!we are also raffling off expresso royale gift
certificates! To help out- please email Alyssa at asasset2 at uiuc.edu

*Champaign Early Childhood Center April Fun* *Day- THIS FRIDAY April 13th*

Volunteers are needed to help students aged 3-5 and their families by
running carnival games-including a moonwalk! It's a ton of fun- especially
to work with the little kids! Volunteers are needed from either 8:45-11:10
or 12:45-3:10, however these times can be broken down into smaller shifts...
any time you can commit would be great! Please contact flamand2 at uiuc.edu to
coordinate shifts and transportation.

*Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser- Thursday April 19th*

This year, Habitat is doing something exciting and new for its annual event!

Passes By*, an Exhibit on Poverty, at its ReStor Facility, 119 East
University. The exhibit will include a donor reception and exhibit preview
on Thursday, April 19th from 6-9pm. We need volunteers to help set up, tear

interested in helping in any way at all, please email me ASAP. *

Special Olympics is holding a bocce tournament at Dexter Park in Champaign
on Saturday, April 28th. *We need a lot of volunteers for this fun event!! *As
of right now we are looking for 24 volunteers to cover the bocce courts,
about 5 volunteers for awards, and about 4-6 volunteers for lunch. This will
be tons of fun- so if you are interested in any of these positions, please
let me know *before April 19th.*

*Kenwood Elementary Family Fun Night- Friday April 27th*

Our event is on Friday, April 27th. It lasts from around 4:30 until 9:00
(from set up to clean up). We offer our students and their families a very
affordable evening of fun (dinner, carnival games, face painting, cookie
walk, book fair, etc..) Volunteers truly make this event a success! Please
email me if you are interested in helping out- we will be participating with
set up, clean up, and running games. It will be a great night!

Let me know which ones you want to help out with!
