*HEY VOLUNTEERS!*

Another month has begun...you know what that means -- MORE VOLUNTEER EVENTS!
October is going to be an exciting month for Special Projects, and I'm
excited about the events we have planned so far. Check out all the events
below, and if you are interested, reply to this e-mail and let me know! This
e-mail is kind of long (SORRY), but check it out, I promise it's worth your

*FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8th*

*KABOOM! Park Build*
*        8:00am - 4:00pm
* - Volunteers will help work with the Champaign Park District, Kraft,
Champaign Rotary, and other community organizations in building a brand new
park in just 6-hours! Breakfast and lunch is provided. There will be a DJ
and it will be an extremely fun event!

*Buddy Walk *
*        2:00pm - 6:00pm*
The Buddy Walk program was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome
Society to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome and
to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.Local children and
adults with Down syndrome, their families and friends, and many other
supporters will take to the street to promote Down syndrome awareness and
acceptance on this day. This year the Buddy Walk will be held on 9th Oct and
VIP takes pleasure in assisting them. We are in need of volunteers to come
in and help set up on 8th of October from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Also volunteers
will be required on 9th October at various areas such as children's section,
food/ drink section, registration table, etc from 9 a.m -2:00 p.m.

*SUNDAY , OCTOBER 10th*
*Orpheum Children's Museum Haunted House Set-Up*
*          2:00pm - 6:00 pm *
 Volunteers will be building the Haunted House set at the Orpheum Children's
Science and are encouraged to bring whatever hammers, drills, and power saws
that they have available, although the Museum and Prompting Theatre Company
have tools available as well.

*WEDNESDAY , OCTOBER 20th*
*WESLEY EVENING FOOD PANTRY SET-UP*
          *  6:30pm - 8:30 pm*
Volunteers are needed to set up cases of food for clients to shop..easy way
to help out and volunteer! Moving  boxes around, and meeting other
volunteers...its fun!
