NEWS

- Checking in a minute late, but chock full of useful info this week, so
here we go...

- First off, thanks to everyone that came out and supported the first four
weeks of Chillax. There was a good turnout, and it seems like all of the DJs
really enjoyed being able to dig up records they don't normally get to play
out. This Sunday night downtempo event will be on break until January. The
Hitlist will have all of the info that you need when it is available.

- Our good friend Chris O has a new podcast that you can subscribe to in
order to get all of his latest mixes. You can sign up for the Chris Ocast at

- The Champaign king of minimal techno, the one and only Hydrogen, has
collaborated with some of his friends and has released an EP on Jook
Records! We're always excited for Champaign artists to get international
attention... so huge ups and continued success to Hydrogen! If you'd like to

- Here's an early, quick and dirty New Years roundup of 217mafia approved
events in Champaign...

-- Boltini: DJ Elise spinning "guilty pleasure music." No cover to get in,
but you can spend some loot to reserve a table.
-- Independent Media Center: Eclipse "New Year's Final Fantasy"... this is a
straight up 12 hour rave with wayyyyy too much info to fit into an email. So

-- Soma: Bozak, Delayney and Bob Bass will be throwing down the tunes. Cover
is $75 but gets you pretty much an open bar.
