NEWS

- We're waiting up on Christmas Eve for Santa Claus to come down the chimney
with a brand new pair of 1200s and records stacked high to the ceiling (at
least that's what we asked for)... so while we're waiting, here's the
holiday Hitlist...

- So are you going to be in Champaign on Christmas Day? Looking for a reason
to slip away from the family celebrations? Mertz has the answer for you.
Crunked Up Christmas at Mertz's place! Starting at 9, it'll feature sets
from two Champaign transplants that are doing big things in San Fran and
Chicago respectively, J Phlip and Roll. Also on the lineup are Bozak, Elise,
The Infinite Imagination, Roro Claus and Phrotek. Here's a

more info. And yes, this is at 9 pm on December 25th. PLEASE BYOB as
Mertz can't possibly serve as bar for all of you.

- As expected, DJs are off this Tuesday in the clubs.

- Here's a quick and dirty New Years roundup of 217mafia approved events in
Champaign...

-- Boltini: DJ Elise spinning "guilty pleasure music." No cover to get in,
but you can spend some loot to reserve a table.
-- Independent Media Center: Eclipse "New Year's Final Fantasy"... this is a
straight up 12 hour rave with wayyyyy too much info to fit into an email. So

-- Soma: Bozak, Delayney and Bob Bass will be throwing down the tunes. Cover
is $75 but gets you pretty much an open bar.

There are also a few good house parties on NYE this year... but since we
don't know if the entire world is invited, check out the Upcoming Events

- This might be old news to some of you, but Harsh compiled some of the
