I’M HAVING A SOLO SHOW in the new Illini Union Art Gallery. What was 
formerly the “browsing room” of the Illini Union is now a beautiful art 
gallery – made even more beautiful by my paintings which are currently on

Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 1 at 5:30PM for the Artist’s 
Reception. Food and drinks will be catered and I will be giving a short talk 
about my work at 6PM. Come as you are – but do come!

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS ART WORKSHOP is hosting a session in Pinckneyville 
Illinois. Attendees of the two and a half day retreat can pick from one of 
three instructional classes. The fee of $195 includes instruction, lodging, 
and meals. The classes are: Drawing  (Sandra Ahten); Watercolor (Shirley 
Eley Nachtreib); and Jewelry Making (David Mason). For registration and 
information call 618-749-5256. All levels and ages welcome – but most 
attendees are 50+.  September 28 – 30.

ARTIST COLLECTIVE – The newly formed Cherry Alley Artists have a few spaces 
left for those desiring to make art in a collective environment. Various 
levels available from $45 for shared space with a locker to $120 for 
individual space. Located in the UC Independent Media Center (IMC) in the 
lower level of the historic Urbana Post Office. Contact me for more info at

ALTERED BOOKS – You may have seen an article recently in the News Gazette 
that featured my Altered Book Workshop. I am collecting names of folks 
interested in another workshop. Please contact me with your available 
October Saturday dates if you would like to be added to the list. Cost, 
including all supplies, is $45.

FIGURE DRAWING – The Cherry Alley Artists are conspiring to bring live nude 
model figure drawing sessions to Urbana. We are considering an intensive 
month long every morning session; weekday evening; and/or Sunday afternoon 
sessions. If you are interesting in modeling or participating please email
