Hello Bike Fans,

    	   In less than 2 weeks, there will be a....

	Bike Project Work Day!
	================================
	Saturday, April 7, 2007
	11 am -- 7 pm
	The Bike Project Co-op shop
	Rm. 24, IMC Building
	202 S. Broadway, Downtown Urbana, IL
	(down the stairs at south side of building)
	================================

	Come help us count our bikes, take parts off scrap bikes, repair
bikes, and more. Help us get ready for selling, renting, and
auctioning bikes...and to get the shop in shape for our new Build-a-
Bike program!

	 Food at 1-1:30
             *and*
          Food  at 5:00-6:00!
	    - vegetarian options (maybe chile?)

	                 =======
                    Things to do

	  Work to do for all, from never-touched-a-bike-before to master
mechanic. Most of these can go in parallel, so there'll always be
something to do!
	1. How many bikes do we have?
	    Round 1: Get all bikes tagged, numbered, and in binder.
		(Repair binder page needs at least: tag number, color, model).
	    Round 2: Find repairs needed.
	    Round 3: Assign bike prices
		(may need experts to guess labor hours needed, etc.)
	2. Parts harvesting from scrap bikes
                 (The only good outlet for that secret anti-bike
aggression you developed when your tire blew 20 miles outside of town.)
	3. Parts pricing
	4. Space improvements (clean, organize, paint a sign?)
	5. Wall Poster / Bike Bar Hanger prep: pre-cut poster tear-offs/
cut hanger-arm X's, then distribute: give everyone 5, 10, or many
more to take home, then post in their favorite places. Elite
poster distribution teams may be assembled and sent on missions to
complete during the Work Day itself!
	6. Get a few bike repairs done
	    (plenty of bikes are already diagnosed,
	     so can go right ahead)

	              =======

	Needs for the day:
           (none of these are required, you are welcome to just show up)
		- An email to us advance if you are likely to come
		- Extra bike work stands
                    (to help with evaluation and repairs)
		- Extra bike tools
                    (the means to mark 'em with your initials
                    are at the shop)
		- Food volunteers!
                     (food preparation; food eaters easy to find)
		    Let us know if you plan to cook, and if you
                      can be convinced to make something vegetarian.

	Item donations needed:
  		- plastic forks, spoons, paper bowls, cups, napkins
		- medium and large plastic tubs for parts
		- transparent parts boxes w/ many small drawers/compartments
                     (i.e. for small parts like screws, washers,etc)
