Staffers open the shop, assist visitors, teach members, and handle sales. It's also one of the best ways to learn bike repair! Inexperienced mechanics are welcome to join us and learn from our more experienced staff. The new volunteer orientation will be on *Thursday, May 30, 5:30 - 6:30 pm at the IMC location (basement)*. Here is the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/665849537218719/ *Volunteers Needed on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at the Urbana Shop* The Bike Project holds open shop hours only with the contributions of volunteers, and now that many of our wonderful staffers are leaving town for the summer, many shifts are facing closure. We need volunteers to help staff open hours on *Wednesdays (6:30-9:00 pm)* and *Saturday & Sunday afternoons (2:00 – 5:00 pm)*. Mechanical skills are welcome but not required! We're always looking for non-mechanical help, such as answering questions, talking about the Bike Project's programs, and/or checking out purchases. If you're interested in developing your mechanical knowledge, other volunteers can train you. You can also show up to the next volunteer orientation session mentioned above. *Join The Bike Project Team for the National Bike Challenge * Join The Bike Project of Urbana-Champaign on Love to Ride for The National Bike Challenge!
