Dear Coop members,

Elections are approaching for several seats on the CGFC's Board of Directors. They will be held next General Membership Meeting, July 30th.The board is a special and important way to make a contribution to the CGFC. Please consider becoming a board member!

Applications are in the store; the deadline to apply is July 25th.

The Board is a group of dedicated and concerned CGFC members that comes together to work on the bigger picture issues facing the CGFC. The central projects that the board is currently tackling include:

1. The Bylaws
The board is charged with re-working our
current organizational bylaws in order to make them more useful and lucid, especially regarding issues of meeting process, role of the board in our
organization, and decision-making process.

2. Visioning
The board is currently engaged in a process
of soliciting members' vision for the coop. Our aim is to focus the development of the
coop based on a more informed and thorough understanding of what the membership at large wishes to see. The board will be putting
together a survey for the membership and will be compiling and interpreting the data it receives from this survey in order to begin to articulate future directions.

3. Documentation and Record Keeping

The board is working on developing better
processes for documenting and filing important documents of the coop in order that they can be easily accessed and used by future coop members,
board members, and coordinators. This project
is essential to maintaining the CGFC's organizational
continuity over time.
