Attention Critical Mass!

It is the last Friday of June—you know what that means, at 5 PM we will be
meeting at the corner of Wright and Green (by the Alma Mater) to take our
bicycle mass to the streets.

We have an exciting route planned—a tad more adventurous than last month.
This means we need to be prepared. We need to really be a mass, not just
call ourselves a mass. We will ride as one tight unit that can not be
divided. If half the group has made it through an intersection, the rest of
the group will follow, no matter what color the traffic light is. We will
need to be thinking and riding together.

After the ride we will be meeting to discuss the day’s events and the future
of our group. Please plan on sticking around for the talk and be part of
the decisions.

So rally all your friends that have bikes and who would like to see better
bike paths in town. If you know anyone who would like to be added to the
Critical Mass email list send me their address or direct them to the
webpage: critical-mass.groogroo.com (If you got this message forwarded or
from another list, sign on to Critical Mass)

If you are interested, get your bike all decked out for the ride! We want to
send a clear message to the car culture. We are not a bicycle parade, this
is an action that should speak to everyone who is freaking out about gas
prices. We represent clean, healthy transit! Some people will be gathering
at our meeting spot early to make signs and attach them to the bikes. If
you can help, please bring supplies: paints, brushes, cardboard, duct tape,
tall skinny tree branches. The signs looked great last month, but didn’t
really hold up through the rain.

Okay, that’s all for now, I’ll see you all soon! Give me a call if you have
any last minute questions or ideas.
352-2493 home or 384-0830 at work.

Thanks,
  Cara Saunders

Critical Mass….the minimum number required for change to occur. And we need
you!
