Proposal:

we ride through the Bradley/Market intersection this Friday.

was biking on sidewalk down bradley, come up to market st. crossing.  i 
had green light, walk sign.  looked over shoulder for drivers turning 
right.  didn't see any blinking, so powered into intersection.  was going 
too fast to avoid truck turning in front of me.  fucker flipped on his 
signal  at the very last minute according to eyewitnesses.  tried to 
swerve.  fell off bike, landed between sets of tires on the little trailer 
he was hauling.  back tire caught me in the right side ribcage.  never 
actually got run over, but dragged about 50 feet, cops say.  ...

will spare details.  ended up being paramedic'ed to ER.  lots of xrays and 
wound debriding/cleaning.  final result: severely bruised right ribcage, 
nothing broken.  second degree burns from asphalt on hands, left arm.  
tons of skin missing from left arm.  cut on right foot, skinned right knee 
and elbow.  skinned patch on tummy.  big bruise on right hip.

insult to injury--/i/ ws the one ticketed bc he was so far into the turn 
when i hit him.  fucker.  cop was very sympathetic, mae it clear he didn't 
want to, advised me to go to court and talk to judge.  date set for aug 2.  
even if my ticket is turned over, that doesn't make the driver liable, 
does it?  very confused about legal ramifications.

have insurance, but crappy grad student version.  (ie, i'm liable for (i 
think) deductible and 20%--don't know if paramedic services are coverd.)  
Mom suggested ppssibly making a claim on MY car insurance bc the accident 
was auto related.  anyone heard of this?

so that is the story.  never lost consciousness, but i really think i lost 
my mind between the impact and arriving in the ER.  remember everything, 
but very detachedly.  have been told this is typical.
