The City of Urbana will hold a Public Open House to provide
information concerning the upcoming Goodwin Avenue Improvement
project. The project consists of milling and resurfacing; re-striping
the pavement to narrow the driving and parking lanes; striping
on-street bike lanes; constructing bump-outs at all intersections;
striping all crosswalks with high-visibility markings; erecting
pedestrian and bicycle warning signage; installing new street
lighting; consolidating bus stops and constructing enhanced bus stops
at select locations; and constructing traffic signal upgrades and
making geometric improvements to improve bus turning movements at the
intersection of Goodwin Avenue & Springfield Avenue.

The Open House will be conducted on an informal basis; no formal
presentation is planned. Exhibits, plans and aerial photography of
the proposed roadway improvements will be available for inspection
and viewing during the entire time. Staff from the City of Urbana
Engineering Division and Clark Dietz, Inc. will be available
throughout the open house to discuss the project and answer questions.
All persons interested in these projects are invited to attend this
meeting. The meeting room is accessible to persons with a disability.
