Dear Kathy,

We need you to call Governor Blagojevich TODAY! Tell him to reverse Big
Tobacco's preemption law. It's time to do what is healthy for the public
and healthy for local communities. 

Governor Blagojevich has until mid-August to sign H.B. 672 into law. The
law will give local communities the OPTION to regulate public exposure
to secondhand smoke indoors in public places. But in the final hour, the
Governor is wavering as to whether or not he will sign the bill.

make a difference! 

The Governor's Office is keeping a running tally of those who call in
support for H.B. 672. So, call Governor Blagojevich NOW!  

Tell the Governor: 

*	Stop wavering on issues concerning public and community health.
*	Secondhand smoke kills 8 people in Illinois every day.
*	80% of those in Illinois are nonsmokers.
*	Represent the interests of the public, not those of Big Tobacco.
*	Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Kentucky all allow local
control. Illinois should too.
