[C-U Smokefree] SMOKE FREE BLOOMINGTON!

Congratulations to the Smoke Free Bloomington-Normal Coalition for
passing a 100% SMOKE FREE ordinance last night!!  This was a TEAM
EFFORT.  Thanks to the very strong coalition members and the full
support of the medical community and Illinois Wesleyan University
students and Illinois State University students for all your very hard
work!!  There were several votes taken - all
"alternatives/compromises/loopholes" FAILED.  The final vote for the
comprehensive ordinance to mirror Normal's ordinance was 4-4 with Mayor
Stockton breaking the tie with his "yes" vote.  It was a very tense,
late night - but worth every minute!!!

Thanks to EVERYONE who worked to bring clean indoor air to both
Bloomington & Normal!!!
