I'd like to propose that some of us get together and write some articles
that (attempt to) put an end to the FUD that's being published by news
and industry trade journals. As an example:
http://www.technewsworld.com/story/41931.html
We all know that there are a number of points that are misrepresented
here. However, our voices are _not_ being heard. I think its time to go
on the offensive, and publish some articles that actually state the
truth, instead of the misrepresentations about Muni-networks that are
all we see in publications today.
To that end, please email me off list if you are interested in
participating. We need (a) people who can write and represent some level
of institutional involvement (for example, you are an ISP, work for the
gov't, do work through a WCN, etc), and (b) places to publish. For (b),
I mean print publications and their online sites. Blogs are great (Glen
Fleishman has done a wonderful job here), but they don't reach the
average american, and that's who we need to reach.
